Mini-workshops & Demonstrations on
Organic Growing and Biointensive Minifarming
For 2020 Growing Season

We continue our program of short workshops to demonstrate different aspects of organic growing and biointensive minifarming (following John Jeavons’ “GROW BIOINTENSIVE ®” methods). Our audience is local growers and gardeners who want hands-on practice in using these techniques. You will work with us at our gardens in Lemont. See tables below for topics.

Workshops will vary in length, but will probably last 1-2 hours. Come dressed in your garden clothes and bring garden gloves. Kneepads would also be helpful where indicated below, so bring if you have these. Dates given are approximate, and depend on the weather and how the season unfolds. Some of the activities can take place at multiple times during the season, e.g., planting of cover crops, making compost, planting seeds, transplanting seedlings into their bed locations.

Contact us if you are interested in one or more of these and we will arrange for specific dates and times. Use the numbers or topic names as identifiers.
Our list of topics is not exhaustive; if there is some other topic on which you would like advice or hands-on experience, ask us, and we will let you know if that is within our abilities.
